![]() It's that time of year... we're getting excited about summer 2012! We've finished with the planning for this year and we hope you like the changes. Some races we left alone 'cos they're just too much fun but since we can... We did lengthen and/or change a few courses, added another 10K, and a new 1/2, plus a few races moved to Saturdays, etc. Check out each race's web page for all the info. E-mail us at bhrctrails@gmail.com with your thoughts, suggestions, critiques ( don't make us cry though.... )
Once again, the Black Hills Runners Club thanks all of you for the success of our third annual BHRC Trail Running Series! It was a lot of fun! We're thrilled with the participation in the Series - YOU, our volunteers and sponsors. Over 300 participated and a number of runners completed the entire Series this year. Amazing!
Thanks for helping the Series thrive in 2011! We hope the fun of trail running continues to grow and spread throughout our beautiful area.
Active.com selected the BHRC Trail Running Series as one of their 2011 "Seven Destination Trail Runs" - we're pretty happy about that! See the article Here
PS- another BH race is touted also...Congrats! Check the article....
Come explore trail running in the Black Hills!
Set in the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming's Bear Lodge Mountains, the Black Hills Trail Running Series, a "Points Series" was created to encourage people to try trail running and to provide races for all abilities in the beautiful Black Hills region. 2012 consists of ten trail runs; six sponsored by the Black Hills Runners Club and four races put on by our running friends throughout the area. We've picked great places to run - each Race Director has a favorite to share. We mark the trails, track each race's finish times and post the results for those that like that info. Consistency can overcome speed. We award points in Men/Women Divisions with three age groups: Open Division, 39 and under, Masters Division, 40 - 49; Grand Masters Division 50 and older. We keep a running total of the accumulated points and present awards at the end of the Series in November. Since we're running for fun, we do not present awards for the winners of each individual race - we think everyone out there on the trail deserves a little something. So, we have some great sponsors donating cool stuff and we have drawings for fun prizes at each BHRC sponsored race.
