We are sticking with an April date, hoping that mother nature continues to be kind.  A long standing race in the series, we will be altering the course a bit to account for logging in the area.  Start and finish in the same place as always at the intersection of First Thunder and Victoria Lake Road.  This years long course race  will be between 7-8 miles and

Directions to the Race start: Take Sheridan Lake Rd. from Rapid City to Victoria Lake Rd. ( at MM8 on SL Rd ) make the right turn. Cross the cattle guard and continue to the intersection of Victoria & First Thunder Rds - well marked. Parking is limited: car-pooling is great and if the parking area is full... Please park along the USFS road on one side only - a well used & busy road.

The course is a single track winding its way through tree-lined National Forest Service land and consists of rolling ups and downs with occasional, yet brief technical sections. The first half of the run has a net climb with the second half of the course working it’s way back down.

Difficulty Scale:  55% of previous runners rate this trail as a 5 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most difficult.

New Course.  7.44 Miles.  See blue X for 5k turn around.

New course as it compares to the old course.  New course in blue, old course is in red.

This year we are holding the race in April and hoping that Mother Nature will be good to us.
